It all begins with an idea.

Rose Thomas Bannister is a musician and a writer. She grew up in the Nebraskan panhandle, the gateway to the American West. Rose Thomas was brought by music into bars, where she fell in love with craft cocktails. She worked as a cocktail creator for six years, both in the Midwest and in Brooklyn. While working at the Italian restaurant group that includes Aita and LaRina, Rose Thomas began to learn about the vast variety of Italian wine grapes and Italian dialects. Many certifications, New York City wine jobs, and education programs later, she has learned that even if it were possible to learn every wine in the world, everything would change with the subsequent vintage. Equally fascinated by the way that languages migrate and evolve, Rose Thomas has brought drinks and dialect together in Modo di Bere—a podcast, YouTube travel show, and a social media blog that considers local culture through drinks and dialect
