(RT) The best somm in Italy held this warm egg up to my cheek and said, "Das ist luxury."
(Emilia) It was the most exciting thing in the world. I had some of the best bites of my life.
(RT) We met a biodynamic apple producer on this trip that made me want to be a farmer.
(Emilia) I have goosebumps. It was the most gorgeous, picturesque.... I FaceTimed my dad to be like, "Look what I look where I am. I need you to see this. I need you to be here with me right now."
(Intro) Welcome to Modo di Bere, the podcast about wine and language and the people who keep local culture alive. I'm your host, Rose Thomas Bannister.
(RT) We sipped sparkling wine in a castle. We guzzled the world's finest prosciutto. We baked biscuits by the fire on the Texas High Plains. We drank fresh palm wine from a Calabash in Lagos State. We arm wrestled innkeepers. We learned the local slang.
We messed up basic Italian and accidentally brushed our teeth with denture cream.
